To our dear beautiful Bushling community,

After the sudden loss of my mum and dad, we’ll be pausing Bushling for Term 3 to honour time for grief and healing.

We are so deeply grateful for the kindness, support, and understanding you’ve all shown us: from messages and meals to flower offerings and playdates, we have felt so held in this time.

A huge, heartfelt thanks to our amazing friends who kept things going through the chaos of last term, your love has meant everything. Forever grateful for each of you.

Bushling will be back, with fresh energy and magic, when the time feels right.

I've been out living my best European holiday life and I forgot about our term 2 Hidden Worlds tickets ending yesterday 28th April. So now I'm moving the date to the 30th April. Be quick to grab your spot for the term by then! This allows us to ensure we have resources for each and every one of you bushlings and makes planning and prepping super smooth for us, especially since we will be hitting the ground running having just landed from our trip days before term starts!!

Our next term, Grounded Awareness, is for grown-ups craving nature, movement, connection, and a little mind-expanding magic.

You’re never too old to play outside, so we’ve created a space just for you to reconnect, explore, and grow alongside a like-hearted crew.

We keep our groups small and intimate, so if you feel the pull – now’s the time to book your place!

Tonight, we welcome the Autumn Equinox. The moment when day and night find perfect balance before the gentle shift towards the darker half of the year.

A time to pause. To reflect on what we’re harvesting, both in nature and within ourselves. What has grown in abundance? What needs releasing?

As we move into this season of change, may we find the warmth of the sun and the wisdom of the earth.

How are you marking this shift? Maybe a quiet moment outside this misty morning, a warm cup of tea, or a simple gratitude for the gifts this season brings.

We are excited for this shift. And welcome it with all its beautiful shades, scents and energies. ✨️

It's been a week! That's for sure.

Our power is back, our yard is still a mess, but our hearts are full, and our tanks are overflowing!

This week was made better because of our community. Our new community centre was a lifeline to so many. Offering hot showers, endless cups of tea, power to charge our things, internet, books to browse and swap, puzzles to piece together, and the beautiful natural spaces for the mountain kids to run around and be wild and feral!

Thank you to every single person who volunteered their skills and time to have the community centre running, from cleaners ensuring a sanitised clean shower, to the wonderful foodies who cooked up nourishing meals to share, to our local rural fire brigade for showing up everyday getting it equipped and open, getting snags and bread sizzling. To the wonderful CWA women who served up the goods, negotiated biscuit rations with our hungry children, and always had a smile.
Each of you made the community-powered hub a safe place to land, a welcoming warm hug, a lifeline to many during the storm.

With Cyclone Alfred expected, our little ones will be looking to us for reassurance.

Here are ways to help them feel safe:

✨ Keep It Simple. “A big storm is coming, but we’re safe at home.” Keep your tone calm and steady.

✨ Stick to Routines. Regular meals, bedtime stories, and cozy spaces bring comfort, even if the power goes out.

✨ Make It an Adventure. Build a fort, read by torchlight, or listen to the rain together.

✨ Let Them Express. Encourage drawing or storytelling to help them process their feelings.

✨ Limit the News. Keep updates for adults and focus on what kids can do, packing a storm kit or choosing a story.

Once it’s safe, head outside, notice the changes, and remind them that after every storm, the sun returns.

Check on your neighbours, stock up the pantry, clean up your yard, and gutters.

Stay safe, buddies. 💚
